World Class Travelers

For the second year in a row, Heritage of Emerson residents have made the 100 mile trip to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo. Eight residents and eight team members /volunteers, braved the warm June day. They went with a sense of adventure and desire to see, learn and feel all they could about the environment and the animals within it at the Henry Doorly Zoo. The exploring bunch was excited to visit the brand new African Grassland exhibit. Getting to see the giraffes and elephants up close was very exciting. Residents were given the opportunity to feel a piece of hide from and elephant. The Zoo employees did an outstanding job at answering questions we had about the elephants as well. After the grasslands they were off to see the sea lions, bears and monkeys. A picnic lunch was served before the final stop of the day at the aquarium. The penguins seemed to be the favorite spectacle of the whole day.
